Here’s the part that often gets missed: Copilot only sees what each user already has permission to see. It inherits your existing access settings, sensitivity labels, and security policies. That is a strength, but it also means Copilot is only as well-organized as the environment underneath it.
Microsoft 365 Business Premium gives you the controls to keep that environment in order. It includes the familiar apps, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, and adds the security and management tools most small businesses would otherwise piece together from separate vendors:
- Microsoft Entra ID P1 controls who can sign in, from where, and on which devices, using conditional access and multifactor authentication.
- Microsoft Intune manages and secures company laptops and phones, so devices are configured correctly from day one and can be locked or wiped if lost.
- Microsoft Defender for Business adds endpoint protection that detects and responds to threats on your devices.
- Microsoft Purview information protection lets you label sensitive files and set rules for how that information can be shared, including through Copilot.
